About Us
Since 2000, Cattleman's Choice Feedyard, Inc. has grown from a 1,500 head facility to a 7,500 facility. Through a vision toward customer service and individual cattle nutrition and health management philosophies, CCFI has earned multiple awards including the Red Angus Association's "GridMaster" award and the C.A.B. Feedyard of the Year for 2008. CCFI has also won the Certified Angus Beef's National Carcass Challenge for having exceptionally high percentages of cattle qualifying for C.A.B.
As the facility has grown, General Manager, Dale Moore and Manager, Jarred Shepherd have retained their edge in the market. They accomplish this through the addition of new technology, a clean and continuously improving facility and a steadfast commitment to top quality feed ingredients and cattle handling philosophies.
Our Team
The staff at Cattleman's Choice are a small but knowledgeable group of cattle feeders and handlers who have more than 60 years of combined experience in cattle health and feeding.
Jarred Shepherd
Manager, Cattleman's Choice Feed Yard, Jarred Shepherd. Jarred brings with him a rich background in animal health and a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Science and Natural Resources – Animal Science. Jarred has been with Cattleman's Choice for nearly six years. With his extensive background in animal health, a passion and detailed understanding of animal-feed conversion and animal nutrition as well as a focus on customer success, he applies the latest science and vigilant oversight for overall yard performance.
Gayle Thurmond
Feed truck operator. Gayle has been with Cattleman's Choice for more than four years. She comes to the feedlot daily with a passion for animal health and performance and applies more than 20 years of animal health experience. She is integral to the individualized nature of the feeding program at Cattleman's Choice Feed Yard.
Ronnie Kraus
Kraus, director of maintenance, has been with Cattleman's Choice for more than five years. He has been instrumental in the execution of a plan for a new shipping alley and holding pens that create a less stressful environment and a safe shipping experience.
Miles Mitts
Yard Manager, Miles Mitts is the lynch pin of the cattle health program at Cattleman's Choice. Miles brings with him a lifetime of experience working in the cattle industry. He come from a family ranch and cattle operation. Miles is a former Bud Williams stockmanship program attendee and apply's daily a philosophy of stockmanship that ensures the least stress on the animal and the best health.
Rick Norueil
Feedmill Manager, Rick has been with Cattlemen's Choice since the beginning; he has given the feedyard close to nine years of service. Rick is meticulous in his tasks of milling corn and keeping track of commodity inventory. He is a great asset to the feedyard and might just be irreplaceable.
Abby Hartwick
Office Manager, with a degree in business management Abby brings several year of experience working in the agriculture industry. She has been with Cattlemen's Choice for close to four years and is happy to help the customer's in any way possible.
